Dr. Effi Helmy Ariffin |
| Dr. Effi Helmy Ariffin is a Senior Lecturer at Faculty of Science and Marine Environment and Research Associate at Institute of Oceanography and Environment, Universiti Malaysia Terengganu, Malaysia. He obtained his PhD in Marine Geoscience from the Université Bretagne Sud, France in 2017 and has been actively engaged in research on coastal erosion and integrated coastal management in Europe and Southeast Asia. His recent focus is coastal erosion modeling with particular interest on how the coastal erosion can be mitigated in monsoon conditions with rapidly developing coastal areas. Parallel towards IR4.0 the application of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) are applied in coastal mapping and modeling to have more precise in erosion impact especially in monsoon dominated coast. His also participate in the transfer knowledge contribution with focus on how to engage with local scientist citizen. He has been a member of the European Geosciences Union and Geological Society of Malaysia with contributing on coastal hazards fields. |
